Terms of Service
These Terms govern use of CompliancePack at https://www.compliancepack.co.uk (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
CompliancePack helps UK renewable energy installers manage MCS-related compliance checklists, generate post-installation compliance documents (including MCS compliance packs and handover packs), and collect homeowner sign-off via a portal. Features may change. The Service is a workflow tool only. It does not constitute legal, MCS, grant, or building-regulations advice, and it does not guarantee grant approval, MCS acceptance, or regulatory compliance.
2. Eligibility and accounts
The Service is for businesses and professionals installing renewable energy systems in the UK (typically MCS-certified installers). You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You must provide accurate registration information, keep credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Subscription, trial, and payment
- We may offer a free trial (currently 14 days unless stated otherwise at sign-up). No card may be required during the trial; after the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription.
- Prices and billing intervals are shown at checkout and may change for new subscriptions with notice.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated.
- You may cancel at any time via account settings or Stripe customer portal; cancellation stops future charges. We do not refund prior billing periods except where required by law.
4. Your obligations
You agree to:
- Enter accurate job, installer, and homeowner information.
- Have a lawful basis to process homeowner personal data and to email portal links and documents to homeowners.
- Review every generated document before use, submission to Ofgem, MCS, or handover to customers.
- Comply with MCS scheme rules, consumer law, and all applicable regulations.
- Not misuse the Service, probe or breach security, scrape data, or resell access without permission.
5. AI-generated content
Some text in documents is generated using AI from job data you provide. You are solely responsible for verifying accuracy and suitability before reliance or distribution. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated content.
6. Intellectual property
We own the Service, software, and templates. You own your business data and uploaded logos. You grant us a licence to host, process, and display your content only to operate the Service.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. For homeowner data you upload, you are the controller and we are the processor as described there.
8. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, third-party outages, or force majeure may cause downtime. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis via email.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury from negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under UK law. Otherwise, our total liability for claims arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid us in that period or (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, loss of profit, business, data, or grant outcomes.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your job/homeowner data, documents you distribute, or unlawful use of the Service, except where caused by our breach or negligence.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, legal requirement, or risk to the Service. On termination you lose access; we may delete data after a reasonable period unless retention is required by law.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections where applicable.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on https://www.compliancepack.co.uk. Material changes may be notified by email. Questions: hello@compliancepack.co.uk.
